Uzbekistan 2013 road construction and repair works to cost around US$464.5mn
Around US$464.5 million is due to be spent building or upgrading more than 520km of roads in Uzbekistan during 2013, according to national road construction company Uzavtoyul. The extra-budgetary regional road fund will pay for the works.

Around US$464.5 million is due to be spent building or upgrading more than 520km of roads in Uzbekistan during 2013, according to national road construction company Uzavtoyul. The extra-budgetary regional road fund will pay for the works.
The World Bank will grant Uzbekistan a US$200 million loan for 25 years, including a grace period of five years.
The funds will go towards the $240 million Regional Roads Development project that is scheduled to be completed by 2021, according to UzDaily.uz.
Uzbekistan’s government also reported that around 117km roads were built in the first half of this year.
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has extended a US$196.5 million loan to Kazakhstan to fund the reconstruction of 62km of road from Shymkent to the Uzbekistan border. The project is part of the construction of the Western Europe - Western China transport corridor.
In Uzbekistan a major road link between capital Tashkent and Osh will now be upgraded. US$211 million is being provided by the Uzbekistan Government for the upgrade work, which is required to improve the road surface and also widen the link and allow it to carry heavier traffic. The Asian Development Bank is supplying finances worth $167 million for the road improvement work.
