Uzbekistan 2013 road construction and repair works to cost around US$464.5mn
Around US$464.5 million is due to be spent building or upgrading more than 520km of roads in Uzbekistan during 2013, according to national road construction company Uzavtoyul. The extra-budgetary regional road fund will pay for the works.

Around US$464.5 million is due to be spent building or upgrading more than 520km of roads in Uzbekistan during 2013, according to national road construction company Uzavtoyul. The extra-budgetary regional road fund will pay for the works.
The Uzbekistan Government is increasing its investment in road infrastructure. This will rise by a factor of 1.4 to US$454 million in 2013 compared to the spending in 2012. One of the main projects will be for repairs to Uzbekistan's national highway. Around $120 million of the budget will be used to rebuild a further 320km of public roads and over 1,100km of rural roads.
The authorities in Uzbekistan are planning for a series of major road projects in a bid to boost the country’s transport connections and freight handling capabilities. A total of 2,306km of roads will be either built or upgraded in the country by 2015. Priority projects include building 1,008km of roads in the Beyneu-Andijan area, as well as rebuilding a 100km stretch of the Tashkent-Osh road. A total of 517km of roads and 544km of viaducts are to be to be built in 2012 under the plans.
Serbia has managed to reduce the cost of building the Corridor 10 highway by €80 million. These funds will instead be used to pay for upgrades and improvements needed for the second section of the highway project, close to Neradovci.
So far some 180km of the Corridor 10 highway has been built over a 40 month time frame. A further 150km of the highway has still to be built. Work on the Corridor 10 motorway is also being financed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the state budget.
