US$557.15mn Shenzhen, China ‘longest’ tunnel works to start in 2013

A US$557.15 million (CNY 3.45bn) project to build Shenzhen, China’s longest tunnel will start before the end of this year. Due for completion in 2015, the 7.5km tunnel will connect Yantian District and the Pingshan New Area. The Pingyan Passage connecting the two areas will have two flyovers and three bridges, including the tunnel. An 80km/h speed limit will be imposed on the six-lane route. A US$557.15 million (CNY 3.45bn) project to build Shenzhen, China’s longest tunnel will start before the end of this year. The $629.82 million (CNY 3.9bn) 11.3km long Pingyan Passage will shorten driving time to 10 minutes. The passage will link Yanba Expressway in Yantian District from the cross section of Zhongshan and Jinlong boulevards in Pingshan New Area.

    A road and underwater tunnel project linking Dachanwan Tollgate with Yueliangwan Boulevard in Shenzhen city, China will be completed in 2015. Shenzhen's first underwater tunnel will cost around US$403.04 million (CNY 2.49 billion) to build (EUR 289.41mn USD 403.04mn). It will span 1.3km in Qinghai Bay.
