A series of transport infrastructure works are planned for Vietnam that are worth a total of US$4.86 billion.

Construction of the 175km expressway linking Vietnam and Cambodia will start in 2026. Work for the Ha Tien-Rach Gia-Bac Lieu Expressway is expected to cost $3.44 billion. This will speed transport between the Mekong Delta region in Vietnam and Cambodia, boosting trade between the two nations and a pre-feasibility study for the project is now being analysed by Vietnam’s Ministry of Transport.

Another of the major projects is for the Tu Lien Bridge that will span the Red River. This is expected to cost $851.4 million and the Vingroup is proposing to the Hanoi People's Committee to build the project. It will include building a 2.9km cable-stayed bridge as well as 11.5km of link roads. Construction of the bridge will cut congestion on the existing Chuong Duong, Long Bien and Nhat Tan Bridges, reducing journey times. The new bridge will link Tay Ho district with Dong Anh district.

Meanwhile, plans are moving ahead for upgrading work to the Cam Lo-La Son section of the North-South Expressway East. The work will be carried out in Quang Tri Province and Thua Thien Hue Province. The route will be widened so that it has two lanes in either direction and is expected to cost $276.3 million. The road will be reconstructed with a new base and then resurfaced.

In addition, work worth $160 million will be carried out in Lam Dong Province as the first stage of the Bao Loc-Lien Khuong Expressway Project. And Phu Cat Airport in Binh Dunh Province is to benefit from a new runway and other facility improvements in a project worth $128.3 million.
