US$240.46mn approved for Lahore transport works

The Traffic Engineering & Transport Planning Agency in Lahore will have a budget of US$240.46million (PAK 22.95bn) for its city-wide projects during 2012-13. The Traffic Engineering & Transport Planning Agency in Lahore will have a budget of US$240.46million (PAK 22.95bn) for its city-wide projects during 2012-13.

It is estimated that US$229.67million (PAK21.92bn) will be spent on works including traffic signals installation and maintenance, a rapid bus transit system, the first phase of the of Khayaban-i-Jinnah-Valencia Town road and an underpass at a railway crossing on the MS Ali Road.

An overall 2012/13 budget of US$413.13million (PKR 39bn) 2012-2013 was approved by the governing body of Pakistan's Lahore Development Authority for the development authority and its civic agencies.
