A total of US$1.89billion (CNY 11.97bn) has been allocated to build 51.47km of highways across the city of Shijiazhuang in Hebei Province, China.

Huge highway investment plans have been established by the authorities in China’s Henan Province. The planned spending on highway construction in Henan during 2012 is some US$4.41 billion in all, which will see the highway network reaching a total of 6,000km. The authorities in the province have set a total transportation budget of some $7.27 billion for 2012.
The Chinese city of Kunming has increased spending on transport by 28.86% to almost US$1.8 billion (CNY 10.99 billion) in the first half of 2013, compared to the same period of 2012.
According to the Kunming Traffic Transport Bureau, who disclosed the investment rise, the total included $1.71 billion (CNY 10.59 billion) spent on airport facilities, urban rail transports and key city and provincial projects, and $8.66 million (CNY 53.42 million) on rural roads.
Official approval has been given to the feasibility report for the Chuzhou-Huainan Expressway project in China’s Anhui province. Construction of the US$1.35 billion expressway will be carried out during 2014 and the projects is due for be completion within 3 years. The 125km route will feature four lanes in either direction and will have a speed limit of 120km/h. The expressway project includes seven interchanges.
