US highway overpass demolition causes utilities problem

An overpass demolition job in the US state of Washington caused problems when a chunk of the roadway fell the wrong way. Luckily no-one was hurt when the chunk of reinforced concrete dropped but it caused serious damage to water lines and other utilities that will now have to be repaired. The project forms part of a series of upgrades to the key SR16 highway link.

    A rider amongst a group of cyclists on a training run in Australia had a rather unpleasant experience. The man was cycling along a road with his team mates when a young kangaroo jumped out from the road side and collided with him, knocking him from his bicycle. Although he was riding at speed at the time, he was not seriously hurt and as one of his team mates filmed the incident, will have video footage to better remember the incident by.
