US $1.2bn Zhoukou-Zhengzhou, China highway construction begins
Work has begun on constructing a US $ 1.2 billion 144km highway between Zhengzhou and Zhoukou in China. The highway has a designed speed of 120km/hour and a width of 28m.

Work has begun on constructing a US $ 1.2 billion 144km highway between Zhengzhou and Zhoukou in China. The highway has a designed speed of 120km/hour and a width of 28m.
A bridge costing some US$321 million will be built in Sri Lanka to span the Kelani River. This new link will reduce congestion at Baseline Road and in the area of Peliyagoda. The bridge is expected to take three years to construct and will measure 415m long. The project is being funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), which is also funding the design detail and feasibility studies. China is helping provide funding for Nepal's road expansion. The Chinese Government has agreed a deal with the Nepalese Government to expand the Kathmandu Valley ring road. The feasibility study for the project has been completed and design work is currently underway.
A major contractor In Turkey is using new Dynapac pavers to resurface the busy Istanbul-Ankara highway. Onur Insaat Taahhut bought 12 new Dynapac compactors and pavers at the end of last year and is using two of its new SD135C pavers on the D-100 highway. In all 12 Dynapac asphalt paving machines and vibratory compactors were added to its fleet of equipment, and has put two of the tracked pavers to work on the Ankara to Istanbul link.
