The TR60 offers operators greater control and braking performance
1222 Terex has updated its popular TR60 rigid dump truck with a Stage IIIB/Tier 4 Interim Scania DC16 engine delivering 515kW.

This engine provides 5% more torque than previously and is equipped with selective catalytic reduction (SCR).

The truck is equipped with a modulating rear brake retarder, which in combination with the engine brake and the transmission retarder makes the TR60 the first in its class to offer three retardation systems for improved control in full payload downhill hauling. This also extends service brake life, reducing ownership costs for the customer.

“Using the pre-set stages of the modulating rear brake retarder control, the operator can find exactly the right level of retardation for regular descents,” said Scott Pollock, global product manager at Terex trucks.

“They can then leave the control in position and switch the system on and off at the touch of a button. It makes life easier for drivers and gives them more control.”

The TR60 also features a revised cab, with upgraded electrical systems similar to the company’s articulated haulers. The integrated dash provides more information and additional feedback for the operator, allowing them to select machine functions to better suit the operating conditions. This results in lower fuel consumption, extended tyre life and reduced operating cost.
