Hidromek’s durable underground excavators
A special version of 230 Hidromek’s HMK220LC excavator is now available for use in underground applications. This machine features additional reinforcement and protection to ensure its longevity in the tough underground application, as well as providing extra safety measures for the operator. The same Tier 4 Interim/Stage IIIB emission certified engine and hydraulics components are used as in the standard machines, although additional after-treatment systems are available to meet underground working requirements where necessary. Export manager Anil Bingöl said that the machine has been introduced so as to broaden Hidromek’s standard excavator offering and is one of a number of specially modified excavators now available from the firm. As with the standard machines, it is equipped with Hidromek’s new telematics system, which uses satellite communications to provide a continuous flow of data on working performance. The customers can view this information remotely and in real time and analyse operating parameters. The system also offers GPS location and geofencing and can be used to identify any technical problems, while remote trouble-shooting can be used to address software or calibration issues.
