UAE's road upgrade project

The UAE Government is planning improvements to the Emirates Road in Sharjah, work which is expected to cost over US$231 million.

The UAE Government is planning improvements to the Emirates Road in Sharjah, work which is expected to cost over US$231 million. The project includes widening the link by building extra lanes, as well as building new slip roads, pedestrian crossings and parallel roads from Ajman to the boundaries of Dubai. The work is being set out by the Sharjah Planning and Survey Department.

    Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is working on plans to replace the Howard Franklin Bridge. The project is now expected to cost US$814 million, an increase from the $750 million originally envisaged. The contract is expected to be awarded in 2019, with construction commencing in 2020.
