Turkish contractors could build new Bosnian highway

An announcement is due shortly with regard to the Corridor Vc highway in Bosnia. Several talks have been held with Turkish companies for the construction of the highway. The project value is expected to reach some €2 billion. The project is of strategic importance for Bosnia, although the country lacks necessary funding.

    Serbia’s Minister of Construction and Infrastructure, Zorana Mihajlovic, has said that work on the Fruskogorski Corridor motorway will start in the middle of next year. However, she also said talks are due to be held regarding financing of the project. A tender for technical documentation for the project is ongoing and due to be completed by March 2016. The project value has not been mentioned, according to a report by the Serbian news wire agency Tanjug.

    A Turkish company will carry out a key construction contract in Qatar. The project is for the East industrial highway and the package of works was awarded to Tekfen Insaat, which won the tender process. The project is worth some US$200 million and is expected to 27 months to carry out. Once the highway is carrying traffic it will help reduce congestion at peak periods.

    Bosnia is cancelling a tender for part of its Corridor 5C project, an integral part of the class-A north-south central European route E73. Route E73 runs around 700km from Hungary south through eastern Croatia to Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Adriatic Sea in the area of Ploče port. The longest part of this corridor goes through Bosnia and Herzegovina – nearly 340km. Director of the Bosnian motorways company Autoput FBiH, Adnan Terzic, confirmed the cancelled tender to the Bosnian daily newspaper Dnev
  • Work on a key tunnel link in Bosnia is moving ahead according to schedule

    Work is on schedule for a new tunnel for the Corridor Vc highway in Bosnia and Herzogovina. The link will be from Drivusa to Kakanj and is due for completion in February 2014. The project is worth some €62 million. The contract is being carried out by Slovenian firm Primorje.
