Transport investment for Delhi

In Indian capital Delhi investment plans are being made for the city’s transport infrastructure. Projects planned include building an elevated road link connecting Azadpur and Prembari Pul, as well as extending Barapullah road up to INA Market. These projects will cost some $345 million. The city authorities also plan to invest in 600 new low-floor buses, and a new monorail project to improve Delhi’s public transport system.

    Mott MacDonald has been appointed by the Road and Motorway Directorate of the Czech Republic to design sections of the R35 and R55 expressways. R35 connects the Bohemia and Moravia regions and runs parallel to the D1 motorway, the longest in the country. Mott MacDonald will design a 5.8km section of the expressway, including three bridges, two interchanges, two roundabouts, four overpasses and one railway viaduct. One watercourse will also be relocated as part of the scheme.

    A new bridge project in Vietnam’s Ho Chi Minh City will help cut traffic congestion. The project is expected to cost in the region of US$157 million and four contractors will work on the construction of the 3.2km long Bình Tiên Bridge.
