Topcon Europe Positioning has launched its PS-AS robotic total stations
5962 Topcon Europe Positioning’s (TEP) new auto-tracking robotic total station series for the construction market on show at bauma 2013 will “set a new industry standard”, according to Leighton Davies, the company’s survey products sales manager for Europe.

With what is said to be its combination of the latest tracking, motorised turning, angle accuracy and software technology, the new PS-AS series instruments are designed for applications such as stakeout and as a key component of a Local Positioning System, used for 3D machine control.

“The PS-AS has a strong prism-tracking ability and the fastest reacquisition time in the industry,” said Davies. “Tracking faster with high accuracy measurements equates to a savings of time and money on every job.”

Key features of the PS-AS series include TSshield: Topcon’s advanced security and maintenance technology; PowerTrac technology, said to increase prism tracking power; and what Davies says is a “fast and powerful EDM.” The new series also includes Topcon’s exclusive LongLink communications technology, advanced angle accuracy and a water resistant IP65 design.

Data collector software options include Topcon’s Pocket3D or MAGNET Field Site.

The PS-AS series is available in 1 and 3 arc second interval versions. The standard kit includes two batteries, dual-tray battery charger, USB flash drive, and accessories.
