342 Topcon Europe has introduced a new series of affordable lasers and levels under its new 2LS brand to bridge the gap between do-it-yourself lasers and industrial quality lasers and surveying instruments used on large construction and civil engineering projects.
Four new models are available under the 2LS brand – Orion automatic levels, Gemini series interior lasers, Leo series of line lasers and the Taurus rotating laser system. Topcon says the new models are suitable for house building, concrete forming, dry wall and ceiling installations.
Ammann is using INTERMAT to reveal its UniBatch range of asphalt mixing plants. With capacities from 80-350 tonnes/hour, this new plant type incorporates flexibility, and a larger selection of modules to allow the system to be expanded as required. Energy efficiency and reduced emissions are key elements of the UniBatch range, which is said to be is compatible with all of Ammann's recycling technologies. started at HCME at the beginning of April, 2012. This is the second time that he has worked for the manufacturer in Europe. Speaking at the launch of seven new machines on the firm’s INTERMAT exhibition stand, Mr Kadoya said the European market remains important for Hitachi, with signs of recovery in many countries.

US firms Hemisphere GPS and Carlson Software have formed a ‘strategic alliance’. The move, according to the companies, will provide a “roadmap” for new, integrated solutions for land survey, mapping, construction, mining and other key machine control markets.
