342 Topcon Europe has introduced a new series of affordable lasers and levels under its new 2LS brand to bridge the gap between do-it-yourself lasers and industrial quality lasers and surveying instruments used on large construction and civil engineering projects.
Four new models are available under the 2LS brand – Orion automatic levels, Gemini series interior lasers, Leo series of line lasers and the Taurus rotating laser system. Topcon says the new models are suitable for house building, concrete forming, dry wall and ceiling installations.
JCB is broadening its range of asphalt compactors with the addition of the VMT380 and VMT430 models. These are said to offer high operator visibility, comfort, safety and performance in comparison with other models on the market, according to the firm. The four-model EW range spans 14-21tonnes and benefits from a new engine, cab, hydraulics, substructure, boom, arm and controls. There is more power with D-series, from stage IIIB engines that use V-ACT technology. The four cylinder (EW140D) and six cylinder engines produce high torque at low engine speeds, said Volvo, giving rise to low fuel consumption.
