1222 Terex Cranes is using Intermat as the launch venue for its new Challenger 3160 all-terrain crane. Terex said the Challenger 3160 is the only fully equipped, three-axle, 55-tonne capacity crane designed for one-man operation.
Putting his best foot forward: Nylacast marketing executive Junaid Makda shows off the company’s new Bigfoot spreader plates. Made from Nylon, which is 1.6 times stronger than polyethylene, they come in 500 to 1,220mm sizes. An anti-slip coating is applied to the top surface and the customer’s name can be etched into each pad along with a serial number and contact details.
Italian technology company Outset has introduced two additional on-board weighing systems. The Lanx WL is a wireless control unit designed for use on road-going tipper trucks. It provides a real-time display of the net, gross, trailer and tractor axle weights, with an acoustic alarm to prevent overloading. The Lanx HD is intended for use in rigid dump trucks, and is directly installed in the cab. It displays the weight on board, allowing readings for each axle, and memorise round-trips for later download.

Ramtec’s backhoe series hydraulic hammer BH30C is designed to fit all modern backhoe loaders, larger mini excavators and skid steer loaders. The company will demonstrate sound suppressing housing, for 3-6,500kg carriers, at INTERMAT 2012.Launched last spring, the BH30C has been selling well to western European markets.
