Terex Construction puts new TLB890 backhoe loader on bauma stage

The new TLB890 backhoe loader from Terex Construction will be among over 20 machines exhibited by the globally-renowned firm at bauma. Terex Construction says a high-pressure hydraulic system on the new TLB890 backhoe loader is key to its excellent productivity
The new TLB890 backhoe loader from 771 Terex Construction will be among over 20 machines exhibited by the globally-renowned firm at 688 Bauma.

Said by Terex Construction to be critical to the TLB890’s excellent productivity levels is its high-pressure hydraulic system, with an efficient piston pump option and high breakout force on the boom, dipper and bucket services. These design improvements are said to result in an impressive slew torque which provides powerful and quick backfilling particularly when working on cross slopes. The curved boom design is also said to allow trucks to be positioned closer to the machine for short loading cycles.

Other key models at the Terex Construction stand will be the new Terex Fuchs MHL350 E material handler with cutting edge hybrid technology, said to make the machine even more sustainable and cost efficient than its predecessor.

For the first time, German-manufactured Terex compact machines will be exhibited with Tier 4 Interim/Stage IIIB compliant engines. In addition, stand visitors will be able to see the TW85 wheeled excavator and the TL 120 wheeled loader’s new, claimed ergonomic, design operator interface. The interface is said to have a new display and control functions aimed at increasing operator productivity.

Meanwhile, the 2012 launched TC10 micro excavator will make its bauma debut.

JCB will launch 427 and 437 wheeled loaders at Bauma, powered by Stage IIIB/Tier 4 Interim Cummins engines. First seen in prototype form at last year’s Intermat show, the two loaders are powered by the Cummins QSB6.7 engine, which offers a 9.4% increase in torque over the previous model. This drives through a lock-up converter and customers can choose a standard four-speed or optional five-speed transmission, which delivers a 16% drop in fuel consumption. In-cab noise levels have been reduced to just 68dB(A

Powered by a Cummins QSB4.5 Stage IIIB-compliant engine, with exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) and a diesel particulate filter (DPF), the machine has 10% more power and 15% more torque than the previous model. Both main boom and dipper arm forces get an 8% boost, while travel speeds are increased to 5.3km/h, resulting in a claimed a 10% increase in productivity.
