Tender process commences for Romanian highway project

The authorities in Romania are launching the tender process for a new highway section. The country’s national roads and highways company, CNADNR, is handling the tenders for the project, which involves designing and building a 9km section of the Transilvania Highway between Gilau and Nadaselu in Cluj county.

The authorities in Romania are launching the tender process for a new highway section. The country’s national roads and highways company, 2870 CNADNR, is handling the tenders for the project, which involves designing and building a 9km section of the Transilvania Highway between Gilau and Nadaselu in Cluj county. The deadline for bids is 21st March 2012. The project is expected to cost from €73 million to €80.3 million to construct.

  • Work commencing on key New Zealand tunnel link

    New Zealand prime minister John Key led an official ground-breaking ceremony this week to allow the start of excavation work for two new 2.4km-long motorway tunnels beneath suburban Auckland. The Waterview Connection project is on schedule to begin its main construction phase next year, and the prime minister was on hand to turn the first soil for a 30m-deep trench which is needed to allow access for the tunnels’ southern approach trench in the west Auckland suburb of Owairaka.

    Work is now underway in Namibia to upgrade key road links. One project will see improvement works to the B2 coastal road connecting Swakopmund with Walvis Bay. Another project is for the widening and resurfacing of the C28 link, which runs from Swakopmund to Namibia’s capital Windhoek and will be reclassified as Main Road 44 once the improvements are complete.
