Sunward says it sets high quality standards for its mini excavators range
1173 Sunward is pushing hard in Europe with its new mini excavator range, which includes a sophisticated range of standard and zero tailswing models The SWE25 is a 2.6tonne standard mini excavator that features a 15.5kW 7139 Yanmar diesel and offers a dig depth of 2.4m. This machine is certified for use in Europe and has the important CE mark. Product quality has been set as a key precedent by Sunward for its machines and a company spokesperson said, “This class is one of the most popular models in the German market, especially for France and Germany.”

The SWE30UB, SWE40UB and SWE50B are all zero tailswing models weighing 3.5, 4.1 and 5tonnes respectively, with the smaller machine aimed specifically at the Italian market. Power for the SWE30UB and SWE50B comes from Yanmar diesels delivering 19kW and 26kW respectively while the 1265 Kubota engine in the SWE40UB is rated at 24kW. The spokesperson said, “Yanmar and Kubota are both strategic partners of Sunward.”

Meanwhile the company is also keen to develop sales for its innovative remote-controlled SWEROB unit. This 2tonne class machine is electrically powered with an 11kW motor and its battery pack offers up to 6 hours working on a single charged. Designed for use in unsafe working areas, the machine can be operated remotely at distances of up to 500m using its German-supplied control box. This suits duties in difficult demolition or tunnelling applications, as well as on sites where reducing noise can be a key issue.

First up are the HL760, HL770 and HL780 models, which get Cummins QSB Stage IIIb engines with an active regeneration system that uses controlled, in-cylinder fuel injection (rather than a fuel burner) to achieve the desired reduction in engine emissions. Among the tweaks are a relocated fan to improve cooling efficiency and maintenance access, a touch-screen LCD display and electronic smart key – the l
