Successful bC India attracts more than 28,000 professional visitors

bC India has been hailed a success after attracting more than 28,000 professional visitors – despite the show being held during tough trading times for the construction equipment industry. 1260 bC India has been hailed a success after attracting more than 28,000 professional visitors – despite the show being held during tough trading times for the construction equipment industry.

The four-day 688 Bauma ConExpo event at the Bandra Kurla Complex in Mumbai was finishing today, with 710 exhibitors from 33 countries having taken part in what was the second staging of the international show.

Thomas Löffler, chief executive officer of the show’s organiser, bC Expo India, said: “The visitor numbers are satisfying in times like this. Therefore, I hope that the success of bC India indicates a return to growth in the Indian construction market”.

Among senior representatives of bC India exhibitors keen to praise the show was Amit Gossain, 255 JCB vice president of marketing & business development. He said: “bC India is a very good show with high-quality visitors. Visibility here is extremely good.”

Besides high-quality visitors, the show is also said to have proven to be an excellent platform for conducting business. Brahmanand Pandey, 178 Caterpillar vice president strategy & business development at Caterpillar, said: “bC India is very relevant for the industry. The decision-makers are here. We closed several deals and we definitely reached our goals.” Ki Young Kong, managing director of 236 Hyundai, added: “For Hyundai, this year’s bC India was a very successful show: We were very busy, had really good customers and sold many machines.”

Overall, bC India which occupied 150,000m² of exhibition space. Of the 710 exhibitors, 437 – or 61%– were international exhibitors. As a result of this global interest, the show featured nine national pavilions, namely from China, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Korea, Poland, Spain and the United Kingdom.
