Construction testing equipment manufacturer Humboldt has the strongest forward order book ever, said general manager John Lamond at Conexpo. The firm relocated at the end of last year to a bigger manufacturing facility: a 6,970 sq m factory in Elgin, Illinois. “We needed to expand,” said Lamond. “It’s a bigger and better location for us as a growing business.”

Humboldt is experiencing strong demand from regions including Central and South America, the Middle East and the Far East.
Government laboratories, universities and large infrastructure projects are all looking to purchase testing equipment, said Lamond.

Visitors to the Humboldt stand at Conexpo included people from Latin America, as well as large delegations of people from Russia and Central Europe, said Lamond. Exports currently account for around 40% of Humboldt’s sales, a figure which the manufacturer expects to grow in coming years.
