At present the country’s national infrastructure agency, ANI, has 56 expressions of interest for the three highway concessions in Antioquia Department. The projects feature a total estimated investment of US$2.16 billion. The highway concessions form part of a $6.9 billion infrastructure project to construct  Antioquia’s Autopistas para la Prosperidad highway system. The 46km Pacífico 1 highway includes the construction of two tunnels and 20 bridges. The Pacífico 2 highway comprises a 41km section from Bolombolo to La Pintada with a 2.5km tunnel and 33 bridges, and the 54km section from La Pintada to La Primavera. The 231km Pacífico 3 highway is split into six sections and includes the construction of 26 bridges and three tunnels. ANI is evaluating the offers being made and will select 10 for pre-qualification before the actual bidding process is opened.
