The Austrian group 945 Strabag has been awarded a two-year contract worth €34.6mn for the modernisation of a 48km stretch of the national road M2 in the Republic of Moldova. The upgrade route runs between Ghindesti and Drochia.
The Tanzania National Road Agency (Tanroads) is managing four major highway projects that have been awarded to four Chinese contractors. In all the routes will stretch for a total of 432km and the work meanwhile will cost a total of around US$313 million. China Geo Engineering Corporation will carry out the work for the Usesula-Komaga route, which will cost $70.21 million. Nigeria’s Federal Executive Council, (FEC) is giving its approval for an upgrade of the road running from Akwanga to Gombe. The 421km section of the A3 runs between Akwanga, Jos, Bauchi and Gombe and provides an important link between the centre of the country and Nigeria’s north east.
