The Austrian group 945 Strabag has been awarded a two-year contract worth €34.6mn for the modernisation of a 48km stretch of the national road M2 in the Republic of Moldova. The upgrade route runs between Ghindesti and Drochia.
STRABAG has won the tendering process for a €125 million expressway construction contract in Hungary. The package of works is for the construction of the R76 expressway in western Hungary. The contract will involve building an 8.6km section of expressway along with a number of overbridges and will take 36 months to complete. A consortium is now working on the construction of one stretch of Slovakia’s D1 highway. The section lies between Hričovské Podhradie and Lietavská Lúčka and the project is worth €427 million. The consortium comprises four companies; with Doprastav, Váhostav and STRABAG all holding equal 32% stakes of the contract and Metrostav having a minority 4% share.
