The Austrian group 945 Strabag has been awarded a two-year contract worth €34.6mn for the modernisation of a 48km stretch of the national road M2 in the Republic of Moldova. The upgrade route runs between Ghindesti and Drochia.
Argentina’s Route 33 is set to benefit from a major upgrade with the award of a contract to a consortium comprising local construction companies. The firms, Jose Cartellone Construcciones Civiles and Supercemento Saic, won the tender for the work with a bid worth US$198.5 million. The consortium will carry out construction work on a 70km section of Route 33 between Rosario and Rufino. Work is now commencing and should take around 24 months to complete. Strabag consortium has signed a contract with the Polish General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways (GDDKiA) for construction of an S6 dual carriageway section.
The work, worth around US$113 million, is due for completion in April 2019. It also makes Strabag responsible for more than 100km of S6 work.
The latest section is from the Ustronie Morskie junction to the ring-road of Koszalin and Sianow.

The newly built US$522.81 million (CZK 10.45bn) D3 motorway section between Tabor and Veseli nad Luznici in the Czech Republic has officially opened. The partially EU funded 25km route was built by a consortium of four companies Eurovia CS, Strabag, Metrostav and Inzinierske Stavby. The motorway section includes 48 bridges, 277 construction objects and ten sound barriers.
