The Austrian group 945 Strabag has been awarded a two-year contract worth €34.6mn for the modernisation of a 48km stretch of the national road M2 in the Republic of Moldova. The upgrade route runs between Ghindesti and Drochia.
Austrian contractor STRABAG is now working on designing and building the new S8 route in Poland. This €57 million project will provide a new 10km route connecting Radziejowice and Przeszkoda. The road is being built from concrete and is due for completion within 31 months. The project was awarded to STRABAG by Poland’s General Directorate for National Roads and Highways (GDDKiA). Austrian contractor STRABAG is heading the consortium carrying out a highway project in Romania. The project is to build the country’s A3 highway connecting Ungheni and Ogra. Work on this 10km section of highway will take 12 months to complete. STRABAG holds the majority stake in consortium handling the €70 million contract.
Strabag consortium has signed a contract for construction of a 15.2km section of the A1 motorway between Wozniki and Pyrzowice.
Completion of the section that will connect Pyrzowice with Czestochowa is due by the end of 2018.
It is the first of four contracts signed for construction of the motorway. Strabag’s offer is believed to be around €144 million, while the budget set by the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways (GDDKiA), was set just over €200 million.
Meanwhile, the S6 dual car
The Polish highway authorities are calling for a road budget of e7.57 billion for 2011, and while this will have to be approved by the government, it is some e1.56 billion lower than originally planned.
