Chinese contractor 5544 Sinohydro is to start a road construction project in Moldova worth €48 million. It is likely to be the first of several Chinese companies to carry out work in the country.
Nicaragua’s Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure (MTI) is setting out its road development programme for 2018. In all the plans call for the construction of 171km of roads. Work will be completed for the road from Mulukuku to Siuna, with the first 23km stretch due to open in September 2018 and the remaining 21.5km expected in December 2018. The rehabilitation and maintenance works of more than 3,300km of routes is now underway in Argentina. This followed on after the takeover of six new road corridors under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, which took place in August 2018.
The rehabilitation and maintenance works are being carried out prior to the start of the main projects, which will include the construction of highways. Building the
Chinese funding will finance a series of infrastructure projects in Angola. The funding for the projects is being provided by China Credit Line (LCC), with the 15 projects worth a total of US$631 million. Some of the work will be carried out by local contractors while Chinese companies will handle others now that the projects have been awarded by the Angolan Government.
