Spanish Government devises plan to nationalise motorways

The Government of Spain is negotiating the nationalisation of nine reportedly loss-making motorways currently managed by private companies. The motorways in question are managed by firms including Abertis, ACS, Ferrovial, Sacyr, Globalvia, Isolux, Comsa and Azvi. The Government's plan is to launch a new state-owned motorway operator mirroring former operator ENA, and for this company to refinance the assets that are nationalised.

The Government of Spain is negotiating the nationalisation of nine reportedly loss-making motorways currently managed by private companies.

The motorways in question are managed by firms including 5729 Abertis, 917 ACS, 2717 Ferrovial, 3959 Sacyr, 1377 Globalvia, 1392 Isolux, Comsa and 5289 Azvi.

The Government's plan is to launch a new state-owned motorway operator mirroring former operator ENA, and for this company to refinance the assets that are nationalised.
