Sophisticated camera system

Paris-based Arcure has developed the sophisticated Blaxtair safety camera system for use with off-highway equipment to reduce risks for site personnel. This camera helps detect obstacles, locate them precisely and identify them. Highly sophisticated, the Blaxtair unit can distinguish pedestrians from other objects in real time. When a pedestrian is detected in the danger zone, Blaxtair emits a sonic alarm to the driver that increases with the imminence of the danger. A control screen in the cabin allows the

    April 22, 2013
Focal point of Simem’s stand at bauma was an example of its Eagle portable concrete batching plant, which is said to offer top performance at lower cost without compromising the firm’s emphasis on quality. Modular elements with pre-installed pneumatic-electric systems are the key to enabling swift transfer of the Eagle plant from one project to the other. The ‘super-mobile’ MMX range of plant from Simem – said to be the best solution available for faster moving sites such as railways and highways – was also
  • Improved access technology from Ruthmann
    January 6, 2017
From German firm Ruthmann comes the new Steiger T 7XX unit, which broadens its height performance access equipment series. Featuring sturdy construction, the unit is said to be both robust and durable with fine-grained steel used to maximise the performance of its telescoping boom. The design is weight-optimised, due to high-strength steel being used during fabrication. Lateral reach and working height capacities have been increased and even under heavy loads, the platform is said to be sturdy and stable. T

  • Dana Rexroth will launch the high-efficiency R2 hydromechanical variable transmission for smaller machines
    January 6, 2017
Dana Rexroth Transmission Systems, the joint venture Dana and Bosch Rexroth, is to launch the R2 hydromechanical variable transmission (HVT). The modular transmission uses both a hydrostatic drive and a mechanical gearbox to deliver fuel savings of up to 25% compared to a torque converter transmission. Designed to work with engine outputs of 134-193kW (180-260hp), the R2 is suitable for use in wheeled loaders, motor graders, lift trucks and a variety of off-highway applications. The hydrostatic drive unit
