Soilmec is showcasing its new conveying system for its range of drilling rigs. Company say it’s in response to customer needs for a simpler way of conveying extracted material.
At INTERMAT 2012, Italy-based 2959 Soilmec is showcasing its new spoil collecting and conveying system for its fleet of Cased Auger and Secant Pile rigs.

Said by the company to be a response to customer demand for an improved and simplified conveying, the new system sees the excavated material loaded into the flight to be transported from the top of the casing to the base of the rig through a spoil chute.

The spoil chute is a telescopic column of chutes connected by wire ropes and moved by a winch, the. Soilmec technicians have also developed a lower double roller auger-cleaner that works by using its own weight; but with the option to be hydraulically operated. The new spoil collecting and conveying system is said by Soilmec to be characterised by simplicity, and, according to the company, does not hinder the drilling stroke, which can still reach the maximum depth of the deployed rig.

After tests at Denmark and Italy project sites, the new system can be attached on all the Caused Augered Pile (CAP) Soilmec rigs. It will be shown at INTERMAT 2012 in the SR-90.

In October 2011, Soilmec celebrated the production of its 4,000 machine model.
