The SMOPYC 2017 construction machinery exhibition in Zaragoza attracted a high number of visitors

The organisers of the 17th SMOPYC construction equipment show in Spain report strong attendance, both from exhibitors and show visitors. The event was held at the Feria de Zaragoza from 25th to 29th April, attracting 55,317 visitors to the fair. SMOPYC provided a key meeting place for the Spanish construction machine market, with over 65,000m2 of exhibition space for 870 exhibitors, of from up to 49 different countries.

According to the organisers, what was notable at SMOPYC was the professional nature of its visitors. The fair offers a significant boost to the domestic market and helps strengthen relationships in North Africa or Latin America.

The audience attending the event valued the high investment potential of the 870 companies present and their support for R&D+i. SMOPYC can be seen as a synonym of innovation, thanks   among others   to the 13 award-winning technical novelties at the fair, an indication of the efforts of the exhibiting firms when presenting new products and supporting technology.

Key changes were seen for the 2017 event. These included the 1st Torres Quevedo-New Ideas Machinery Award, which recognises the talent of young university students.
