3482 Vahostav-SK will carry out work on a 16km section of the D1 highway near Martin and Vrutky in neighbouring Slovakia in a deal worth €137 million. The €115 million contract is for the Presov section linking Bratislava with Kosice.
Plans are now going ahead in Slovakia for a key stretch of the D1 highway project. This 8km Presov West-Presov South section will cost €356 million to construct. The project will be carried out by the D1 Presov Consortium. The project partners in the consortium comprise Eurovia SK, Eurovia CS, Doprastav, Metrostav and Metrostav Slovakia. Slovakia’s 14km stretch of the east-west motorway D1, from Bidovce to Budimir, will open in December, according to the government.
Last year, Slovakia’s motorway company NDS and the transport ministry agreed a subsidy of nearly €204 million for the D1 section.
