Sichuan and Hainan Province in China will see major road network developments

In China’s Sichuan Province the city of Mianyang intends to invest over US$1 billion in its transportation network during 2012. The investment will be split between rural road construction, national-provincial trunk highway construction and highway construction. The plans also call for 800km of rural roads and 200km roads between townships and counties. In China’s Sichuan Province the city of Mianyang intends to invest over US$1 billion in its transportation network during 2012. The investment will be split between rural road construction, national-provincial trunk highway construction and highway construction. The plans also call for 800km of rural roads and 200km roads between townships and counties. Meanwhile some $2.23 billion will be invested by China's Hainan authority for tourist road development by 2015. The authority expects tourist roads in the province will reach a total length of 679km by the year. In addition, Fugu county in China's Shaanxi province plans to invest $666 million in transportation projects during 2012. Of this a considerable percentage will be spent on rural road construction projects and on highway projects.
