5872 Sibmost and the Automobile Roads Department of the Krasnoyarsk Region have signed a US$371.07million (RR12billion) contract to construct the first phase of the fourth highway bridge in Krasnoyarsk, Siberia.
The Colombian authorities are agreeing terms with the Colombian electricity transmission company Interconexion Electrica (ISA) for the Autopistas de la Montana highway project. The Bogota-Villavicencio highway was also awarded although other infrastructure projects are still awaiting approval.
China Roads and Bridges Corporation has started work on Montengro’s first motorway that will eventually connect Bar (Tiva) on the Adriatic coast with Boljare on the border with Serbia.
The first part of the 170km motorway will be a 49km stretch for which China's Exim Bank reportedly paid €94.30 million as the first installment for its construction.
Also in the region, Bosnia Herzogovina is planning a new 110km highway to link its Adriatic coast to that further south in Montenegro.
International interest is strong in tenders opening in Colombia for the construction and management of 1,146km worth of highways. These form part of a package for 10 projects known as Autopistas para la Prosperidad, worth some US$4.75 billion in all. OHL has expressed an interest in the Autopista al Mar 2 and Autopista al Rio Magdalena 1 highway projects, which have been valued at around $1.9 billion.
