1171 Shantui’s SD16 bulldozer, which qualified for CE importation three years ago, is said to be an all-purpose dozer that comes straight out of the factory in any one of numerous configurations depending on its intended deployment, which may include swamp, forest, highlands, landfill and coal-handling applications. It comes with a choice of engines and blade types to suit the specific local market requirements and customer needs. The European model (the SD16-3) is equipped with a 196 Cummins QSC8.3 diesel rated at 120kW and which meets emissions requirements. Three speeds for both forward and reverse are fitted as standard.

This is a 17tonne class bulldozer, although specific weights vary depending on the choice of attachments such as blade type and ripper, as well as the width of the undercarriage track plates. The machine is available with a straight tilt blade, U-blade or angle blade, while a three shank ripper can be fitted if required. According to Shantui, its SD16 model is a well-proven design that offers customers a reliable and durable machine capable of high production operation over long periods. Both mechanical and hydraulic components are said to be rugged and efficient, to withstand tough site duties. Operator comfort is also said to have been catered for with an adjustable seat that reduces shock loadings, while all-round visibility is also said to be good.

Three-dimensional technology is playing an increasingly important role on construction sites around the world but there are still projects for which there is no 3D data and the use of a 2D system makes more sense for machine control. With the new 3D-matic, MOBA offers a precise and flexible 3D levelling system for graders, dozers and blades that can also be used as a 2D system if necessary. MOBA 3D-matic increases efficiency in machine use and contributes to fast and precise project execution. The compact t
