Serbian highway project

In Serbia the Ministry of Infrastructure has its plans in hand for construction work on the Belgrade-South Adriatic Highway. Contractors will be invited to tender for this €507 million project shortly. The highway will provide an important link for Serbia once it is complete.

Measuring some 556km in all, the project is expected to cost in excess of US$2 billion to construct, although there it is possible that the final pricetag will be somewhat higher. The three new road upgrades will help ease traffic congestion at peak periods and the Works Ministry plans to open the tender process shortly. A budget of $140.8 million has been set for upgrades to the 81.5km road connecting Tawau and Semporna.
