The guidance documents developed for Ireland set out a range of designs that can be assessed in order to support decision-making to minimise climate impact on roads and cycleways.
A loan worth US$250 million will be help pay for road development work in parts of India. The loan is being provided by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in a deal agreed with the Indian Government. This funding will be used for road projects in five of India’s states. The work will focus on boosting connectivity and safety, particularly for rural areas. Morocco’s massive infrastructure development programme is continuing. The cost of this project is expected to hit US$61.86 billion by the time it is complete in 2035. The second and third phases of the road network development programme for Morocco will see the construction of some 1,649km of highways. These new highways will link the country’s capital Rabat to the economic hub Casablanca and to other major cities such as Tangiers in the north as well as Fes and Marrakesh.
