Sandvik DC125R is new member of DC hammer drill family

Sandvik DC125R is a new member to the proven Sandvik DC family of compact, rubber-tyred top hammer drill rigs. The fully remote-controlled, hydraulic and self-propelled mini-sized drilling unit on a four-wheel drive carrier, is for drilling 22–45mm holes, and replaces the former Sandvik DC122R, one in the series of rigs originally launched in 1988 under the product name of Tamrock Commando. “A range of job site tests show that the new model offers better manoeuvrability than ever before. Sandvik DC125R joins the DC family of compact top hammer drill rigs
325 Sandvik DC125R is a new member to the proven Sandvik DC family of compact, rubber-tyred top hammer drill rigs.

This is thanks to the new large drive gears that make the rig nimble and mobile, guaranteeing safety of operation even in the most difficult ground conditions,” says Sandvik. “Rough terrain safety is further enhanced by a new winch with roller-type of rope guides. Thanks to its simplified body structure, easily interchangeable drive gears and a new type of simple-structured dust collector, the rig is easy to maintain.

“The mini-sized Sandvik DC125R mini rig is at its best in applications such as foundation drilling, road cutting, trenching, bolting, line drilling in dimensional stone quarries, and other special drilling applications.”

Liebherr has developed a hybrid drive system for its HS8300HD heavy duty cycle crawler crane. The 350 tonne machine generates electrical power from its hydraulic free-fall winches, which offer up to 50 tonnes of line pull. Under this Pactronic system surplus energy is stored in a hydraulic accumulator and regenerated to assist the engine, reducing fuel consumption. This reuse of energy also cuts emissions from the machine.

Bonfiglioli has developed an electric drum drive for the new hybrid truck mixer from CIFA, the concrete equipment specialist owned by Chinese manufacturer Zoomlion. The 500 series drum drive with electric motor offers drum rotation speeds from 15-22rpm and is suited to mixer capacities from 6-14m3. The drivetrain relies on an AC induction motor to turn the drum, which gets its power from an on-board battery pack.
