Russia’s Krasnodar region will benefit from new road links

In Russia’s Krasnodar Region the authorities intend to spend US$909.3 million on road construction and repairs during the 2013-2015 period. The main focus of this investment will be rebuilding of the M4 Don Highway. In addition, a series of approach roads into Krasnodar will be rebuilt and new road junctions constructed.

The state-owned firm Avtodor intends to invest US$767.45 million on developing the M4 Don highway in the Krasnodar Region by 2014.     Targets are being set for road investment, construction and repairs in Russia. To meet the country’s infrastructure needs, Russia’s National Association of Builders estimates that some 1,500km of roads must be built/year. Meanwhile the highway authorities in Moscow are aiming to repair around 33% of the city’s road surface every year. Some 23.6 million m2 of road surface will be repaired in Moscow during 2012, compared with 24.7 million m2 in 2011.
