Russia’s key highway opening planned

Russia’s M-11 highway connecting its capital Moscow with the second city, St Petersburg, will be fully open to traffic in 2018. The new tolled highway will cut journey times by road between the two cities, providing an important transport link. The 669km highway is one of the most important road projects carried out in Russia in recent years and the link will be operated by the country’s state-owned firm, Avtodor.

    An important bridge link is opening in the Russian city of St Petersburg shortly. The Yakhtenny Bridge over the Bolshaya Nevka River in St Petersburg will open to traffic on 1st June 2017. This will be the first long stretch of high-speed expressway in Kenya and will connect the capital, Nairobi, with the country’s main port, Mombasa.
