Russia’s key highway opening planned

Russia’s M-11 highway connecting its capital Moscow with the second city, St Petersburg, will be fully open to traffic in 2018. The new tolled highway will cut journey times by road between the two cities, providing an important transport link. The 669km highway is one of the most important road projects carried out in Russia in recent years and the link will be operated by the country’s state-owned firm, Avtodor.

The state-owned firm Avtodor intends to invest US$767.45 million on developing the M4 Don highway in the Krasnodar Region by 2014. Toll roads will extend for some 766km out of the 1,564km of road development works planned for the Krasnodar Region.
