Russian roads revamp

Plans are in hand in Russia’s capital Moscow for the rebuilding of nine highways leading out of the city. The work will be carried out by 2014 and is being funded out of the US$69.55 billion budget set for the city’s 2012-2016 transport development programme.

Plans are in hand in Russia’s capital Moscow for the rebuilding of nine highways leading out of the city. The work will be carried out by 2014 and is being funded out of the US$69.55 billion budget set for the city’s 2012-2016 transport development programme. A substantial portion will be spent on road construction and maintenance and the city authorities are currently looking for contractors to carry out the works. Tenders are being invited for the rebuilding of Entuziastov Shosse, a section of Leningradsky Prospect from the Moscow Ring Road to Sokol metro station, Mozhayskoye Highway, Ryazansky Prospect AND Volgogradsky Prospect . They are also called for roads from Balaklavsky Prospect to Rublevskoye Highway, and Yaroslavskoye Highway, while work on Varshavskoye and Kashirskoye Highways is already underway.
