Russian ring road

A new southern bypass is planned for Yekaterinburg in the Ural mountain area of Russia.

A new southern bypass is planned for Yekaterinburg in the Ural mountain area of Russia. The project is expected to cost up to US$721.5 million (€501 million) to construct. When complete, the bypass will connect the existing Chelyabinsk and Perm Highways. State-owned road company Avtodor will work with the local government for the Sverdlovsk Region to finalise the details of the firm building the link.

    Moscow’s ring road is due for rebuilding – Eugene Gerden writes. The Moscow city authorities have finalised the project of the reconstruction of the Moscow Ring Road. The ring road encircles the City of Moscow and the plan was announced by Marat Khusnullin, deputy mayor of the city.     A new bridge will be built in Russia’s North-West region. The bridge will span the Sheksna River at Cherepovets. The project is expected to cost US$247.5 million. Preparatory works will commence during 2019 and the approach roads to the link are being improved. The 1.13km bridge will be the longest in the Vologda Region and should be ready by 2022. A new 8km southern bypass for Cherepovets with three lanes in either direction will also be built as part of a wider plan to improve transport for the city.
