Russian capital investing

The authorities in Moscow intend to invest in new roads, repairs and maintenance in a bid to tackle the city’s road connections and pothole problems. The repairs and maintenance will be carried out in and around the city. Some 180km of roads and 50km of highways will be either constructed or rebuilt during 2012. Some US$650 million has been budgeted for the work, some 2.5 times the sum spent during last year. Around 64km of highways will be built and repaired by 2015.

The authorities in Moscow intend to invest in new roads, repairs and maintenance in a bid to tackle the city’s road connections and pothole problems.

The repairs and maintenance will be carried out in and around the city.

Some 180km of roads and 50km of highways will be either constructed or rebuilt during 2012. Some US$650 million has been budgeted for the work, some 2.5 times the sum spent during last year.

Around 64km of highways will be built and repaired by 2015.

    A budget of US$8.97 billion has been set as the limit on borrowing for India’s highways development programme for the 2017-2018 fiscal year. The financing agreement has been made by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), acting through the country’s Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. This substantial budget comes in spite of fewer projects being awarded as well as less financing having been secured during 2016. In the April to October 2016 the NHAI awarded contracts for 2,330km of highways.

    In China’s Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, Zhejiang Province and Hunan Province, major infrastructure investment plans are being drawn up for 2013. In the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, an investment of US$17.7 billion will be made on transportation development. This will include work on four airports as well as building five highways with a combined length of 363km during the year. Meanwhile, in Zhejiang Province some $48.2 billion will be invested in developing the road network, of which $6.6 billion
