Romania's road programme may benefit from Chinese input following a series of talks between the authorities in the country with Chinese contractors. Two Chinese firms, 3562 Shanghai Construction Group (SCG) and 3563 China State Grid, are holding discussions with Romania's Economy Ministry. Although Romania has set ambitious targets for its road building programme its highway network is still undeveloped.
