Road safety improvement for Italy in 2013

Data from the ACI-ITAT body in Italy reveals an improvement in the country’s road safety in 2013. The statistics show a 2.2% drop in vehicle crashes for 2013 compared with 2012. The data shows that there has been a 6.9% drop in fatalities and a 2% drop in injuries on Italian roads during 2013 compared with 2012. However ACI-ITAT warns that there is no room for complacency as there are still around 500 crashes/day in Italy.

    Italian manufacturers of construction equipment are benefiting from good export sales at present. While sales of off-highway construction machines in Italy are weak at present, the manufacturers are seeing steady overseas sales. The manufacuring association, UNACEA, says that over the first half of 2012, construction equipment sales in the Italian market decreased by 32% to 3,172 units, compared to the same period of 2011.
