A new flyover and express bus routes are among revisions to a new traffic development plan for Hanoi City, Vietnam set to cost US$462.52 million (VND9.66tn). The revised plan has been put forward by The People's Committee of Hanoi City.
The Vietnamese city of Hanoi is set to benefit from a series of bridge construction projects, which are intended to reduce the city’s chronic traffic congestion. These new bridges will span the Red River and Duong River, which flow through the city. The projects are being planned by the Hanoi city authorities and also include the construction of link roads.
Seven transport infrastructure projects, including new roads and upgraded highways, will be launched in Vietnam before the end of 2014 after a US$433.35 million (VND 9.2 trillion) Government investment.
The Ministry of Transport of Vietnam says a further 15 projects costing a combined VND 64.8 trillion will begin in 2015.
The 2014 projects include a VND 2.3 trillion road upgrade project in Ha Nam Province in early-October 2014, to be followed by the construction of a bridge between Thai Binh and Ha N
The Japanese SE Group is working on a new road project in Vietnam. The 25km highway is costing some US$476 million to construct, with some 60% of the funding coming from the JBIC Bank and SE Group providing around 20%. The rest of the funding will be provided by official development assistant capital. This new road will provide a link from the city of Halong in Vietnam's Quang Ninh province to the Hanoi-Haiphong highway project.
