Povolzhupravtodor, a subsidiary of the Russian 2865 Federal Highway Agency, has announced a tender for major repairs of a 25km long section of Russia’s M5 Ural highway in the Samara area of Volga. The contract is estimated to be worth US $ 43.16 million.
The Russian highway authorities intend to invest a massive €16.78 billion (US$24.23 billion) in road construction and repairs during 2011. This investment will come from federal and regional budgets
and represents a 40% increase over spending made in 2010. The plans involve repairs to 5,500km
of road surface at a cost of €2.11 billion ($3.046 billion).
Fifteen bridges were destroyed and 144.7km of motorway damaged during the May 2014 floods in the Russian republic of Tyva, contributing to what authorities say is an infrastructure repair bill of €15.83 million (RUB 748.27 million. The Russian government is considering subsidies to the region worth €16.25 million in the short term. This will go towards meeting all types of flood damage costs.

A series of tenders for major highway, tunnel and road repair projects are being opened in Brazil.
