Qatar's new orbital route

Plans are in hand in Qatar for a new 190km highway project. Tenders for the Orbit Road project will be opened by the Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning and the Public Works Authority (Ashghal).

Plans are in hand in Qatar for a new 190km highway project. Tenders for the Orbit Road project will be opened by the Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning and the Public Works Authority (2559 Ashghal). The road network will features five-lanes with three lanes dedicated for light vehicles and a separate two lanes for heavy trucks and other heavy vehicles. The road will connect Ras Laffan in the north to Mesaieed in the south. The plans also call for a rail network for carrying heavy bulk goods.
